Olympiapark Munich
Built in 1972 for the Summer Olympics in Munich, The Olympiapark is a buzzing venue to visit on a trip to Munich! From a leisurely stroll by foot or by bike, to swimming, ice-skating and so much more, there is something on offer for everyone. For sports enthusiasts, the Olympic swimming pool is the perfect place to splash around with children or do practice how fast you can go. You can even drop in for aqua jogging or spinal gymnastics. If you’re looking to relax, spend some time in the Olympic sauna landscape, fitness sauna and steam grotto! The Olympic Ice Sports Centre is open for ice skating all year round and don’t miss out on the impressive Olympic stadium itself which hosts concerts where icons such as Madonna, AC/DC and Bruce Springsteen have played. The park is buzzing with activities all year round. Bathe in the warm summer nights and open-air shows at the Theatron (the lakeside stage) and have some fun at the Tollwood Summer Festival in June and July. Admire the spectacular panorama of the park from the 190-metre Olympic Tower. If you’re feeling hungry, take a break at the special revolving restaurant which makes a 360⁰ turn so you can see the whole city as you enjoy some food. Or, you can soak up the views of the site by walking up the Olympiaberg, a 60-meter high hill.
